Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Platinum Auto Shipping LLC's website and auto transport brokerage services, including our shipping process.
Effective date: August 7, 2026
Our Role as a Broker
Platinum Auto Shipping LLC ("Platinum," "we," "us") is a licensed auto transport broker (MC-58311702, USDOT-9690304), not a motor carrier. We arrange vehicle transport on your behalf by matching your shipment with an FMCSA-licensed, insured carrier from our network. The carrier that physically transports your vehicle, not Platinum, is responsible for the physical pickup, transport, and delivery of the vehicle.
Quotes & Pricing
Quotes provided through our website or by phone are estimates based on the information you provide (route, vehicle type, transport method, and timing). Final pricing is confirmed once a carrier accepts the shipment and may vary based on factors such as vehicle condition, exact pickup/delivery locations, seasonal demand, and fuel costs. We do not require upfront payment to receive a quote or to reserve a carrier assignment, consistent with our zero-upfront-payment model described on our website.
Booking & Carrier Assignment
Once you accept a quote, we work to assign an available, licensed, and insured carrier to your route. Carrier assignment timing depends on route popularity, vehicle type, and season, and is not guaranteed for a specific date until a carrier confirms. We will communicate updates as they become available.
Open & Enclosed Transport
We offer both open transport (vehicles carried on a multi-car open trailer, our most affordable and widely available option) and enclosed transport (vehicles carried in a fully enclosed trailer, recommended for luxury, exotic, or classic vehicles requiring extra protection from weather and road debris). Pricing and carrier availability differ between the two methods.
Pickup & Delivery
Most shipments are door-to-door, meaning the carrier will pick up and deliver as close to your exact address as safely and legally possible. In some cases, particularly in dense urban areas or locations inaccessible to large carrier trucks, a nearby meeting point may be required; your coordinator will discuss this with you in advance. You or an authorized representative must be present at pickup and delivery to inspect the vehicle and sign the Bill of Lading.
Vehicle Inspection & Bill of Lading
At pickup, the carrier will document the vehicle's condition on a Bill of Lading, which you or your representative should review and sign. At delivery, inspect the vehicle against the pickup condition report before signing the delivery paperwork. Any damage should be noted on the delivery paperwork at the time of delivery; claims are significantly harder to process once the paperwork is signed without noted exceptions.
Insurance
All carriers in our network are required to carry cargo insurance as mandated by the FMCSA, covering up to $250,000 for open transport and up to $1,000,000 for enclosed transport, though actual coverage amounts are set and provided by the assigned carrier, not by Platinum. We recommend reviewing your own vehicle insurance policy, as it may also apply during transport.
Cancellations & Refunds
Cancellation and refund terms are set out in our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for providing accurate pickup/delivery addresses, contact information, and vehicle details; ensuring the vehicle is accessible at the agreed pickup time; removing personal belongings and loose items from the vehicle before pickup (carriers are not liable for personal items left inside); and having a valid form of payment ready as agreed with your carrier at delivery, unless otherwise arranged.
Limitation of Liability
As a broker, Platinum's liability is limited to our role in arranging your shipment. We are not liable for delays, damages, or losses caused by the carrier, weather, mechanical breakdowns, road conditions, acts of God, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control. Claims for physical damage to your vehicle during transport should be directed to the carrier's cargo insurance, and we will assist you in initiating that process.
Communications Consent
By submitting a quote request or otherwise providing your phone number or email to us, you consent to be contacted about your shipment by phone, text message, or email, including by automated or prerecorded means where you've provided that consent, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, without limiting any protections available to you under applicable federal transportation or consumer protection law.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
